The short version: we collect the information you choose to send us through the contact form, plus basic analytics about how people find and use this site. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone outside the vendors listed below who help us run the business.
1. Who we are
Stone Tower Business Solutions ("Stone Tower", "we", "us") is a sales and marketing consultancy operating in Ontario, Canada. This policy covers the website at stonetower.ca and the personal information we handle through it.
We are responsible for the personal information under our control. Questions about this policy go to hello@stonetower.ca.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in the contact form on this site, we collect the name, email address, company name and message you type into it. That is the whole form. We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers, or anything else through the website.
If you email us directly, we hold whatever you put in that email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it (city or region level, not a street address)
- Browser and device type, operating system, and screen size
- Pages viewed, time on page, and the link or search that brought you here
- In some cases, the organisation associated with your IP address, which our visitor analytics provider infers
We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from this data, and we do not combine it with the contact form unless you have submitted the form yourself.
3. Why we collect it
- To reply to you. If you send an enquiry, we use your details to respond and to arrange a call.
- To deliver our services. If we go on to work together, we use your contact details to run the engagement.
- To understand our audience. Analytics tell us which pages and articles are useful so we can write more of what works.
- To keep the site working and secure. Server logs help our host detect abuse and diagnose faults.
We do not sell personal information, we do not rent mailing lists, and we do not use your information for automated decision making or profiling that produces legal effects.
4. Consent and commercial email (CASL)
Submitting the contact form is your consent for us to reply to you about your enquiry. If we later send you commercial electronic messages, we do so under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, we identify ourselves clearly, and every message carries a working unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and does not affect any work already underway between us.
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@stonetower.ca. If withdrawing consent means we can no longer provide a service you have asked for, we will tell you before acting on it.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and the business. They only receive what they need to do their job, and they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Netlify hosts this website and receives contact form submissions. Netlify operates servers in the United States.
- Instantly (Leadsy) provides the website visitor analytics script described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site. Loading a font sends your IP address and browser details to Google's servers.
- Our email and CRM providers store correspondence and enquiry records so we can follow up properly.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our legal rights.
Information stored outside Canada. Because some of these providers operate in the United States and elsewhere, your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, where it can be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of that country. If you would rather not have your information handled this way, contact us by phone or post instead of using the form.
6. Cookies and similar technology
This site uses a small amount of browser storage:
- Cookie notice preference. When you dismiss the cookie banner, we save a single value in your browser's local storage so it does not reappear on every page. It contains no personal information and never leaves your device.
- Visitor analytics. The Instantly visitor tracking script may set cookies or storage entries to recognise a returning visit and to attribute page views to a single session.
You can clear or block cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. The site remains fully usable with them switched off. The only thing you lose is that the cookie notice will reappear.
This site does not run advertising trackers or social media pixels.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as there is a live business reason to, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. As a general rule:
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years from the last contact.
- Client records: for the length of the engagement plus seven years, which is what Canadian tax and business record keeping rules require.
- Website analytics: as long as our provider retains it under their own policy.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. Where we are not legally required to keep it, we will.
8. How we protect it
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site, access controls and multi factor authentication on the accounts that hold client information, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise, but we take the safeguards a business of our size reasonably can.
9. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and provincial equivalents, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep
- Complain about how we have handled your information
Email hello@stonetower.ca and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
10. Children
This is a business to business website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices or our tools change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
